Parents and Toddlers Movement to Music

For Ages 18 months to 3 years approximately

This class is specifically designed for pre school children with their parents (or grandmas/childminders etc if parents are at work!). It is a fun class where the children will start to learn about movement, co-ordination, rhythm and also learn a few of the very basic dance steps. It is a 30 minute class which helps build the children’s confidence and enables the children to interact with each other and with their parents in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Princess Ballet

For Ages 3 – 4 years old approximately

This class is the natural progression from the Parents and Toddlers Movement to Music class. You do not need to have attended the above class to join this one as it is designed for anyone old or new to take part. The structure of the class is designed specifically for the age group where the children will start to learn the basics of ballet in a fun and caring environment. They continue to learn about rhythm, start to become aware of their posture and it also builds their confidence and skills of socializing with the other children as well as using their imagination.
The classes are designed to improve co-ordination, muscular control, strength and posture.

Ballet

From 4 years old and up to and including Adults

Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D.) syllabus as well as free/open work from other styles. The R.A.D. is a set syllabus of work based on classical technique, free movement and character dancing. Turn-out, flexibility, posture, musicality and strength are just a few of the benefits of ballet

Recreational classes are also an option.

Children must take two ballet classes/week if they wish to be eligible to take a R.A.D. examination

Disco Divas/Jazz

For Ages 5 and up, Including Adults

Classes are energetic and fun. The classes consist of exercises, dance steps and routines and are all set to popular chart music. This is an excellent class for students who perhaps do not want to follow something as specific as ballet or tap however at the same time it also works hand in hand with ballet and tap as it provides a good base for general fitness, flexibility and exercise as well as the different dance styles.
The classes are structured and improve fitness, flexibility, co-ordination, muscular strength and confidence.

'Glee' Song & Dance

For Ages 5 yrs and Up

“A great fun class for all children – both girls and boys. The children learn both singing and dance from pop and musical theatre. It is a great way for them to meet with other children who have similar interests and gain immense confidence. This truly is a lovely class that the children always love, Sing, dance, exercise and also have fun !!

Tap

For All Ages!

The children in their various age groups will learn lots of new steps and routines – all to popular chart music and show musical numbers. Excellent class for building fitness and it provides general exercise as well as a great place to meet new friends. Tap is one of the most enjoyable rhythmic forms of recreational dance.

Lyrical

8 Years Onwards

Lyrical Dance blends ballet and jazz and expresses emotions of a song or piece of music.

Pointe Class

Dancing on pointe is a big step forward in a student’s training and it is important to be certain that she has the technique, strength and physical development necessary to be successful. This class will be strating with “pre-pointe” classes to help students with strengthening exercises for the muscles in their legs, ankles and feet to prepare them for pointe work itself and also exercise for strengthening their core.

Students will be assessed before they are allowed to participate in this class to make sure that they are ready to begin pointe work.

Ladies Tap & Ballet

For ladies 30 years and older.

The classes are designed for ladies to have fun and meet new people whilst learning about the different genres. The classes are not for people who want to become professionals but for those ladies who would like to give the different classes a go and learn all the steps and routines – the classes are excellent for general exercise and fitness. The class is suitable for all ages, sizes and abilities and there is no pressure on you to keep going. I like to hold classes for women where you can feel comfortable and free to stop when you need to and carry on when you are ready at your own speed. Both ADULT TAP and BALLET are enjoyable forms of recreational dance – excellent for co- ordination, musicality and the brain cells!!! They have been proven to help stave off Alzheimers Disease as you get older
